Mutha FM was the first internet radio station in South Africa going on air on the 19th of November 2004, the name was given with “FM” because the plan was to get Mutha onto the airwaves and encourage people through the passion of music to uplift themselves and the communities around them.
Over time the station has helped many artists and performers get to where they wanted to be and help people in all walks of life become the focus point. Jumping forward 13 years down the line Mutha FM is now an international brand and known as a live streaming radio station. We feel it is now the time to help build up the people of Cape Town and fill their lives with positivity and empower the communities that surround Cape Town with an FM broadcast.
We need to gather support from our public so that we can apply for a community broadcasting licence on FM in Cape Town.
ICASA needs to know that there is a need for Mutha FM in the Cape Town community so we need your help in order for us to show that we have the support of the people.
We, the undersigned, call on ICASA to grant Mutha FM a community FM licence.
This petition will serve as proof that there is support from the Cape Town community and that the station will have a positive impact on the community should the FM licence be granted.
