British actor Gary Oldman will narrate a new David Bowie augmented reality app.

The new AR app is centred around the David Bowie Is V&A exhibition. First house at the famed London museum back in 2013, the exhibition paid homage to the late icon’s life and his music and shut permanently on July 15 2018 after years of touring.

Now, fans will be able to explore the exhibition in a whole new way as they interact with “the show’s hundreds of costumes, videos, handwritten lyrics, original works of art, and more”.

The Oldman-narrated app was announced last year, and is set to launch on what would have been Bowie’s birthday, January 8. “This brings the amazing David Bowie is exhibition to a wider audience,” explained Oldman via a press release. “It’s great that his fans get to experience it. It was a privilege to be involved.”

Back in 2013, Oldman starred in Bowie’s music video for ‘The Next Day‘. The pair also appeared together in Julian Schnabel’s 1996 film Basquiat.

The AR app launches on January 8 on iOS and Android.
